Jean-Sébastien Leclerc is a seasoned engineering executive with over 18 years of experience in the aerospace industry, specializing in composite materials and advanced aerostructures. As a bilingual mechanical engineer, he has led multidisciplinary teams and managed complex engineering programs from concept to production.
Most recently, Jean-Sébastien served as Structures Engineering Lead and Airframe Engineering Center Operations (Montreal) at Beta Technologies, where he was instrumental in launching the Canadian division and scaling the team to over 80 employees. He played a pivotal role in the development of the Alia eCTOL/eVTOL aircraft, overseeing the full engineering lifecycle and supporting its first flight (eCTOL).
His career includes leadership roles at Bombardier and Bell Helicopter, where he directed R&D programs, certification efforts, and the industrialization of cutting-edge manufacturing technologies. Jean-Sébastien holds a master’s in applied science in Composite Materials and a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering from École Polytechnique de Montréal. He is a member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec and a named inventor on patents related to electric aircraft structures. His work is driven by a passion for innovation, technical excellence, and sustainable aerospace solutions.
