Kerry Manning, P.E. is a Mechanical Engineer with 25 years of experience in new aircraft and electric vehicle development. He began his career in 2001 at Adam Aircraft, leading the composite structural design of the A500 and A700 very light jets through FAA certification. He then spent seven years leading R&D for some of the largest utility-scale solar and energy storage systems in the world. In 2009, Kerry founded EVE Ltd, where he designed, built, and raced electric vehicles—setting multiple land speed records.
In 2015, Kerry joined Boom Supersonic, helping define the configuration of the XB-1 demonstrator and serving as Lead Architect for the Overture supersonic airliner. In 2020, he joined Bye Aerospace as VP of Advanced Concepts and Head of Mechanical Systems, leading clean-sheet electric aircraft programs. In 2022, Kerry became Deputy Chief Engineer at Archer Aviation, where he oversaw batteries, motors, mechanical systems, and structures for the Midnight eVTOL aircraft—guiding the program from early design through build, first flight, and transition.
In his free time, Kerry also consults and prototypes services for electric vehicle systems and composite structures and designed, fabricated, and tested the world’s fastest electric truck. Kerry holds his BS in Mechanical Engineering from Colorado State University. He holds his PE License, private pilot license, and a class B competition license in US Mile racing.
