Michel Korwin-Szymanowski

Program Manager

Michel Korwin-Szymanowski is an experienced new product development engineer and leader with more than 1,500 hours of flying as a flight test engineer on fighters, helicopters, and regional jets. In his past roles, he was the lead flight test engineer on the Bell M430 and the Bombardier CRJ-900 Regional Jet and became the director responsible for the conduct of the flight test program of the new Bombardier C Series intercontinental commercial airliner, now the Airbus A220.

More recently, Michel launched the joint AeroTEC/Mitsubishi Flight Test Center in North America which successfully completed nearly all of the development and certification testing of the Mitsubishi MRJ program. Michel joined the National Institute for Aerospace Research (NIAR) in 2021 where he provided specialized engineering and program management consulting services to a multitude of aerospace OEMs and startups. He also directed the Boeing 777 Passenger-to-freighter conversion program and various B-1 and B-52 product improvement programs.

 Michel holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with distinction from Carleton University and is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Test Pilot School.
